Community is at the core of our business at Card Kingdom and Mox Boarding House. Each year, we gather our fellow gamers around the table to raise money for good causes through charity events like The Gauntlet and The Chalice. Now, in the wake of COVID-19, our community needs us more than ever, and we’re bringing gamers together virtually to help.
On Sunday, August 9th, we’re hosting Gamers Engaged: a live-streaming event to raise money for Food Lifeline. Food Lifeline is a non-profit in our local area that serves over 300 food banks in western Washington state. They’ve also been working directly with Washington Governor Jay Inslee, as well as Second Harvest, Northwest Harvest, and the National Guard to distribute emergency food boxes to families in need.
Gamers Engaged will feature streamers from across the video gaming and tabletop spheres including Magic caster Cedric Phillips, the whole crew at Calliope Games, Dr. B from Take This Org, Anne Richardson from Hearthsinger Games, game designer and puzzle master Mike Selinker of Lone Shark Games, and our very own Dee Chapleau from Card Kingdom. Our goal is to raise $15,000, which will provide 75,000 meals for food-insecure families. There will also be opportunities for participants and donors to win prizes and thank-you gifts from our generous sponsors!
