An Epic Fight is the Endgame for Our Marvel Super Heroes Preview Card

Marvel Super Heroes previews are officially here, and Card Kingdom is thrilled to share our two exclusive preview cards, courtesy of Wizards of the Coast. The cards we’re previewing today are two epic versions of the same card – one with a classic Marvel match-up, and the other part of a sprawling scene that you can collect and build with other scene cards in the set.

MARVEL SUPER HEROES PREVIEW CARD: EPIC FIGHT

Our preview card for Marvel Super Heroes is Epic Fight, and it’s something of an iconic moment for two long-term crowd-favorite characters. While we know that in most fights on Earth-616 Hulk always comes out on top, it’s still a fight of epic proportions, and has made for some memorable moments between the two heroes.

The Incredible Hulk #181
The Incredible Hulk #181

From the debut of Wolverine in The Incredible Hulk #181 back in 1974 to the 2009 animated movie Hulk vs Wolverine, our heroes have quarreled many times over the years – our favorite clash has to be the one that spawned the iconic art by Todd McFarlane, which has since been referenced in the cinematography of Hulk vs Wolverine (2009)and Deadpool and Wolverine (2024).

Epic Fight is a strong fight spell, and one that’ll find a home alongside Bushwhack, Inscription of Abundance and Ram Through. The fact you can double the creature’s power and toughness means you’re almost guaranteed to win the fight, and it makes for a reliable removal spell that can also push through damage.

The best Commanders for a fight-oriented deck that’ll make use of Epic Fight are of course Wolverine, Best There Is, but also Legolas, Master Archer and Jared Carthalion, True Heir. All can boost their Commander Damage potential with this fight spell.

Where we think it’ll really shine, though, is in decks with Commanders who natively have 11 or more power – meaning a doubling of power gets you a Commander Damage kill. Think Ghalta, Primal Hunger, Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, or Arixmethes

MARVEL SUPER HEROES SCENE VERSION: EPIC FIGHT

The Scene version of Epic Fight combines with a series of other cards in the set to create a massive fight… some might even say an Epic Fight.

In this dynamic version of the art, we see the Champions team – formed by Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Ms. Marvel and Nova when they departed the Avengers, disillusioned by the events of the second superhuman Civil War. They would later go on to recruit Ironheart and Viv, daughter of Vision, among others, who are all present in this Johan Grenier art for Epic Fight.

But what of their foes? We see them facing off against a series of Ultron Drones and the Super Adaptoid, built by A.I.M. using Unstable Molecules and incorporating a portion of a Cosmic Cube into its design. Its powers are myriad, but include being able to mimic other heroes powers and abilities. We’re guessing that’s why it looks like an amalgamation of Vivian, Spider-Man, Nova and Ms. Marvel.

Marvel Super Heroes releases June 26, with prereleases running June 19 through June 25. It’s a celebration of all things Marvel, so expect to see many of the most iconic Marvel characters featured.

The Epic Fight Scene Card can be found in boosters, along with the rest of the scene cards that make up the scene. What’s the dire situation our heroes find themselves in? We’ll find the answers by connecting the cards to create the whole picture.

Stay tuned for more previews – and you can pre-order boosters, singles and Commander decks now.
