It’s been a busy few months here on the CK Blog! Today, we’ll be picking up where we left off in our Card Kingdom Affiliates series to tell you about one of our favorite podcasts: Magic the Amateuring.
MTA began in 2013, when hosts Maria Bartholdi and Meghan Wolff were just tipping their toes into the vast pool that is Magic: The Gathering. Although they were only amateurs, Meghan and Maria’s chemistry and quick wit made their show a must-listen (they’re both seasoned improv actors), and they shared a commitment to improving at the game and sharing what they learned with their audience. Their transformation from newcomers to pro point-earning powerhouses is inspirational, and we’re eager to see them achieve even greater success in the future.
While they regularly compete in PPTQ’s and Grand Prix, Meghan and Maria maintain their humor and humility and have become two of the Magic community’s most popular role models. Their weekly podcasts and videos provide a heaping helping of strategy with a side of comedy, proving that competition and fun aren’t mutually exclusive. Whether they’re dishing about Ixalan draft or trying to remember the names of 90’s TV shows, their content consistently makes us laugh and helps us learn.
You can catch new episodes of Magic the Amateuring every Tuesday on iTunes and Stitcher, and check out video versions of each show (plus plenty of awesome bonus content) on their YouTube channel. If you love the show, be sure to support MTA on Patreon, and use affiliate code “mtacast” when you make your next purchase from Card Kingdom.
