This month on Commander Kingdom, we’re bringing together three guests from different corners of the Commander scene. Joey Schultz is the content editor at EDHREC and host of EDHRECast; Joseph Johnson is one of the minds behind the YouTube series I Hate Your Deck; streamer and commentator AliasV just launched her own Commander gameplay series, A Cause for Commander. These three creators consistently bring fresh ideas to the Commander content scene — now, let’s see what decks they can bring to the table.
Commander Kingdom airs this Wednesday, June 30th at 2 pm PDT; check out our guests’ decklists below!
AliasV’s Yarok, the Desecrated
If you love creatures with ETB effects, Yarok is your best friend. Many of Alias’s creatures draw cards, destroy permanents, and find lands — and with Yarok by her side, she’ll get even more uses out of them. Keep an eye out for Muldrotha, the Gravetide, too — if she makes an appearance, Alias will be able to cast her creatures from the graveyard for even more value.
Joseph Johnson’s Freyalise, Llanowar’s Fury
Everyone loves a tribal deck, and Joseph has brought a classic: Elves! His Freyalise deck can generate tons of mana and grow its small creatures to epic proportions. Joseph can go wide pretty easily with this strategy; watch out for cards like Elvish Champion and Triumph of the Hordes to potentially seal the deal.
Joey Schultz’s Thalisse, Reverent Medium
Joseph won’t be the only one going wide: Joey Schultz’s Thalisse deck is all about token creation. The Commander Legends legend will fill Joey’s board with even more tokens if he’s made a few for the turn, and he has plenty of ways to pump them up. Look out for Mirror Entity and Elesh Norn!
Chris’s Garth One-Eye
Rounding out this Commander pod, we have host Chris Cornejo’s take on new Modern Horizons 2 commander Garth One-Eye. How many copies of Black Lotus will he get to cast on stream? You’ll just have to tune in to find out!
