What’s the most meaningful or unexpected way your Magic content has impacted your audience?
We’ve had so many wonderful stories shared with us over the years. But one of the best was when we jokingly wondered if anyone had ever “played Magic underwater.” That next week, we got an email from a sailor who told us the crew on his submarine listens to our show and drafts every week!
If you could describe your community’s vibe in three words, what would they be?
Fun-loving, casual, and extremely attractive.
What’s one piece of Magic content you’ve made that you’re especially proud of, and why?
We’ve very proud of what we’ve built with Commander Arcade, our new Commander gameplay channel. If a casual game with friends sounds like your vibe, you should check it out! It’s fun, funny, and full of delicious betrayal.
GLHF emphasizes accessibility for new and returning players. What’s a piece of advice or resource you wish every player knew about?
We wish every player knew that this game truly is for them. Not everywhere in the world can always be a welcoming place, but we are confident that those spaces exist online. We are extremely proud to be one of them. Whoever you are — and no matter how much you don’t feel you fit in as a “Magic Player,” we are happy you are here. We want you to know we make our content for you, and exactly you.
Your work supports underserved communities in gaming. What’s a story or interaction that reaffirmed why this mission matters?
Every time we see someone playing in an LGS and they tell us they listen to our show, it’s the greatest moment of our lives. We have a very vibrant Magic community in Minneapolis and are a proud chapter home of the Lady Planeswalkers Society. Every person who continues to play despite the hurdles that have been put in their way is a testament to the power of Magic — in more ways than one.
