Theros Beyond Death Brawl Decks

Alex KatzBrawl

The gods of Theros are constantly in conflict. They fight for power and respect from their divine peers, love and worship from the people of Theros, and control over increased spheres of influence. What better way to represent this conflict than with a set of Brawl decks designed to be played against each other?

Here is a deck for each of Theros’s mono-colored gods, featuring the powerful abilities of each god and their mortal champion.

Purphoros

Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded gives your creatures haste and lets you put expensive red creatures or artifact creatures into play for just three mana. The goal of a Purphoros deck is to cast him as early as possible and then start adding big attackers to the board, but Brawl doesn’t have a lot of mono-red ramp right now. Instead, this deck takes things a little more slowly, allowing you to protect yourself until you can cast Purphoros. His champion, Anax, Hardened in the Forge, rewards you for taking risks in combat by replacing your creatures with Satyr tokens when they die.
