Commander Kingdom is our new monthly Commander gameplay series! Tune in to watch us play some fun, casual games of Commander with special guests from the Magic community.
Today, we broadcast our first episode, “Monster Mash”: a showdown between werewolves, zombies, spirits, or Eldrazi horrors. Our two special guests, Kristen Gregory and Benjamin Wheeler, faced off against Card Kingdom’s own Chris Cornejo and Jordan Hopkins.
Who took the Commander Kingdom crown? Check out the recording below, and get our competitors’ decklists after the jump.
Chris Cornejo: In Your Heeee-eaaaad
Card Kingdom producer Chris is battling on behalf of the zombie horde today. His commander of choice is The Scarab God — not a zombie itself, but capable of zombifying any creature in a graveyard. Will Chris’s opponents be able to outlast his Army of the Damned?
Kristen Gregory: Chulane’s Spooky Stories
Kristen’s deck of choice is tribal spirits, with a Vorthos twist. Come hear a ghost story from Chulane, Teller of Tales, who will help maximize the spirits’ “enter the battlefield” abilities. Check out Kristen’s full deck tech for this spooky deck!
Jordan Hopkins: Kozi Korner
While the zombies and spirits battle on the plane of Innistrad, a strange creature watches from above and waits. The Eldrazi are some of Magic‘s most terrifying monsters, so it’s only fitting that they join our Monster Mash. CK Social Media Manager Jordan represents the colorless titans with his Kozilek, the Great Distortion deck.
Benjamin Wheeler: Wheeler’s Wolves
Finally, 100-card specialist Benjamin Wheeler represents Innistrad’s wolves and werewolves. His deck, helmed by Ulrich of the Krallenhorde, features plenty of creatures that could transform at a moment’s notice. This pack is truly hungry from victory.
