What do you call the wackiest Magic format you can play at your kitchen table? Unsanctioned, of course!
What is Unsanctioned?
Unsanctioned is a new box set for Magic: The Gathering, but it’s a bit different from what you might expect. It features silver-bordered Magic cards not legal in regular tournament play, and which bend and challenge the rules of the game itself! Expect in-jokes, parody cards, and tons of wacky interactions. If you’ve enjoyed previous “Un-sets” – or if you thought those playtest cards in Mystery Booster: Convention Edition were neat – you’re sure to love these cards.
Unsanctioned will include reprints from previous “Un-sets,” as well as sixteen brand-new silver-bordered cards.
What’s in the Box?
Unlike Unhinged, Unglued, and Unstable, Unsanctioned isn’t a draft set. It’s a collection of five mono-colored 30-card decks that are playable right out of the box. Go 30-on-30 with a friend, or mix and match the decks to create 60-card contraptions.
According to Wizards of the Coast, each box of Unsanctioned contains the following:
- 5 30-card decks
- 10 double-sided tokens
- 10 full-art basic lands (5 regular, 5 premium)
- 2 six-sided dice
- 1 reusable box
Coming February 29th
